Crystal Christianity: A Vital Guide to Personal Revival
Published in Paperback by Whitaker House (June, 1986)
Author: Charles G. Finney
Average review score:

Hold on tight - this book will humble you big-time!
Charles Finney was an evangelist. As such, he saw the necessity to "hang people over hell" so that they saw the gravity of their lost condition. His words were strong. Whole crowds of listeners wept and repented as Finney spoke. This book is written by the master of evangelism, and the words here are no less strong than the words spoken to those in tent meetings long ago. In particular, the chapters on how to see if you are truly saved (versus thinking you are saved when, in fact, you are not) will make you search yourself and cry out to God to establish the right motives, the right spirit within you. Be prayerfully prepared before reading this, that the Lord will prepare your heart to receive what is inside this treasure.

Crystal Clear

What a nice surprise
I was lucky enough to stumble across this book and because I grew up in a small town thought I might check it out. Crystal Clear was a delightful book and one I really enjoyed. The story of people in a small town was very cozy and comfortable. Yet the author did a good job of keeping me interested and flipping the pages. I have read most of Jan Karon's Mitford books and while not quite as polished a work, Crystal Clear was certainly just as entertaining and the characters were more believable.

Crystal Clear: Reflections on Gemstones in Our Lives
Published in Leather Bound by Kendall/Hunt Publishing Company (October, 1995)
Author: Joan W. Randell
Average review score:

Out standing
This book by Joan Randell is inspiring. I am knowledgable about gem stones, event though this is not necessary to enjoy this book. It provides a clear and inspiring understanding of how the Lord Jesuus Christ is reflected in gem stones in our everyday lives. I beleive its a glimpse into what the Kingdom of God or heaven, will be like. I imagine God wants to give us gifts, like gem stones, far above or beyond what we could think or imagine here on earth. If we think gem stones are great, God has even greater things in store for us. This book inspires one to think this way. Joan's book helped me at a critical juncture in my life when I was trying to decide whether or not to pursue the jewelry industry as a career. I can honestly say it provided answers and guided my thinking as I made the step into the world of gem stones. God is represented in all fascets of nature including the beauty of gems. Joan's book brings out the richness of this fact and makes one realize how great is the God to whom we pray.

Crystal Clear: Vintage American Crystal Sets, Crystal Detectors, and Crystals
Published in Paperback by Sonoran Pub (July, 1995)
Author: Maurice L. Sievers
Average review score:

There are two volumes in the Crystal Clear set...
ISBN: 188660603X is Volume 2 (252 pages) which describes and pictures additional radio sets not in volume 1.

1886606013 is Volume 1 (282 pages).

The important part is the hundreds of pictures of the actual radio sets and/or magazine adds and, when possible, also shows a couple of sentences or so of information about each particular set. The idea is to help identify the huge variety of the many makes and models of crystal sets from around 1920 to 1950, but is also a nice travel down memory lane.

A few of the more modern crystal sets are also covered.

Also a special section with a history of the big four companies:Wireless Specialty Apparatus Company, Radio Corporation of America (in Vol.1). And Philmore Manufacturing Company (in Vol.1 and Vol.2) and Western Manufacturing Company (in Vol.2).

Both fully indexed.

Also both have long tables summarizing the various makes and models of radios.

And both have long summary tables for the spare crystals sold for use as replacements in the sets (when crystals get old they oxidize and lose power).

Very nice presentation of all this material, highly recommended!

Fan-tastic, Informative, Comprehensive
My father used to tell us children about the "old" radio days and how the family would gather around and listen to the radio shows. He would speak of his love for those old radios. I , like everyone else I suppose, have seen old radios in antique stores. However, I don't recall having ever seen a Crystal Radio. I happened to be at an antique show and saw a copy of the book. I decided to buy it for my father. When I got home I started going through the pages and was amazed by the information in the book and the amount of crystal sets there had been. The author has done so much research and I feel the wiser for it. I am glad that I happened upon this book. I have learned from it and know that my father will enjoy it whenever I finally decide to give it to him. He is bound to have many more stories to tell me about "the old radio days" but somehow I think I am going to enjoy listening to them even more.

Very Good!
This book is a must read for all Dragonrealm fans. In it, Nimth is let into the Dragonrealm by the Crystal Dragon, who is really the last of the Vraad and a character that you met before if you read the Origin of the Dragonrealm, in an attempt to stop the wolf raiders from taking over Legar. Also, the wolf raiders awaken the Quel and take Darkhorse prisoner. The Gryphon and Troia return from over the sea and Cabe Bedlam is led by dreams to the aid of the Crstal Dragon. Very suspenseful and well written!
